Saturday September 15th saw a team from Hellingly HoundDogs take part in the Alfriston Fun Run organised by Alfriston Pre-School.
The team, raising money to help fund new equipment for the Hounddogs Club, took part in the running of the 5K race. The route started at Alfriston Church and took the runners along the Cuckmere River in a circular route.
First to come over the line for the Hounddogs was Committee Member, Peter Drake with a time of 23:31 as he finished 2nd overall. He was soon followed by Hounddogs Safety Ned Foster in 3rd place and Wide Receiver Charlie Boorer in 4th overall.
Finishing positions for the HoundDogs:

1st Peter Drake
2nd Ned Foster
3rd Charlie Boorer
4th Roman Cameron-Dick
4th Harrison Kane
5th Clayton Jarvis
6th Joules Parsons
Chairman Luke Boorer added “I am very proud of these lads. The boys all want to have the best training equipment possible and these six have gone on to try and make this possible. All of them ran very well and took on the challenge as a fitness workout rather than a punishment or chore. The event has raise nearly £200 for the club which will go toward getting some new training aids to help all the players with their development. The lads all seemed to enjoy the event and hopefully, we will be back next year with a full team of runners.”
