AGM update

Tuesday the 23rd of July saw the 2nd ever Hellingly Hellingly-hounddogs-two HoundDog’s AGM held the Clubhouse at Horsebridge.

Club Chairman, Luke Boorer took the floor, and with last years minutes signed off, the Chair thanked many members who had made the 2019 season such a fantastic success. However, he made the point that the work needs to carry on both with the Committee, Coaches and Players.

Then came the real nitty gritty with the election of officers. Here is the list of the 2020 Committee team that will run the HoundDogs

Chair -Luke Boorer
Vice-Chair – Aarron Jones
Secretary – Clair Boorer
Treasurer – Michael Williams
Commercial Manager – Luke Boorer
Welfare Officer – Samantha Dickinson
ClubMark Officer – Claire Boorer
Additional Committee members – Peter Drake, Emma Walsh, Rachel Jones, Sean Trimby, Heidi Baker-Sells, Dominique Corbett.

Luke Boorer added “It’s great to be re-elected to Chair and continue in a role I really love along with being Commercial Manager. These two roles kind of go hand in hand. I am also really pleased that the whole of last years Committee decided to stand again. We worked well as a team last year and can continue this into the future and drive this club forward. However, I feel I need to be better at delegating jobs and giving some of the jobs to other Committee Members to fulfill. It’s also great to see additional members joining our Committee. Rachel has helped the club many times, designing our logo, along with the new Dog Bowl logo and several posters and now making her role an official one. Dom has kids at the club who have been here since day 1. She also has a wealth of knowledge helping to run sports clubs for her kids over the years. Heidi is new to all of us. Her son joined us earlier this year as a player and although she says she doesn’t have any experience with Committee’s i am sure she will become a very useful member of our club. I personally would like to thank all of last years Committee Members along with our Coaching team and all the other helpers who have made the club, who we are today. I would also like to say a special thank you to Tracy at Ratton School who helped us with use of the minibus, meaning all our players could get to games. Next year we will be entering a Youth team into the NGB national leagues, which will be a first for us, to go along with The Legion in the U19’s. However, we will continue with our Flag program in a developmental of friendly tournaments against other local teams.”

The first meeting of the 2020 Committee will take place on Tuesday 3rd of September.
